At My Garden Room by Barna Buildings, we believe that a garden room is more than just an extension of your home—it’s an extension of your lifestyle. However, our most recent project in Glenealy, Co. Wicklow, has reminded us that for some families, these buildings are much more than just a luxury; they are a life-changing necessity.
We are absolutely delighted to be working with a wonderful local family to install a bespoke, state-of-the-art outdoor sensory room for their two children.
While we have spent years perfecting home offices, gyms, and studios, this project marks a special milestone for our team.
“It’s a first for us at Barna Buildings,” says Danny Reynolds, who has been leading the project. “When the family first reached out, I knew we wanted to make their dream a reality, but I also knew we had to get it exactly right. I spent time gaining deeper knowledge on the sensory side of design—learning how different colours, textures, and lighting can impact a child’s wellbeing.”
To ensure the space met the specific requirements of the children, Danny and the team liaised directly with the family’s Community Occupational Therapist. By combining our construction expertise with professional clinical guidance, we were able to tailor the build to the individual needs of the children.
