Barna Buildings are an Irish family-owned business providing garden buildings for almost 60 years.  We were founded by Bernie and Theresa Kelly (in the photo).  They are the parents of our current Managing Director Alan.  We have a proud heritage of excelling at customer service and ensuring our customers get the right garden room or garden building for their needs.  Being a family business allows us to stay connected to our clients and ensures that level of trust continues.

During their time running the business, Bernie and Theresa saw the progression of garden buildings from being merely storage buildings to the idea that a garden room can be more than a log cabin!

While in the UK and Scandinavia Garden Rooms have been commonplace for years, the concept has only gained traction here within the last two decades.

Driving Industry Trends

Garden Rooms have moved on and our buildings are now insulated to the same standard as the main house.  They have become another feature in our homes and lives, adding financial value as well as giving us dedicated working spaces, dedicated family rooms for family time or a dedicated space for your hobby.   In recent research reported by the Irish Times, 30% of people investing in garden rooms use them as multi-functional spaces that multi-tasks from home office to yoga studio or art studio and teenage den.
